Two exciting opportunities for enthusiastic farm animal veterinarians are now open at the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Charles Sturt University (Wagga Wagga NSW). We are currently recruiting for two full-time, continuing academic positions in cattle-related fields:

    – Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Bovine Health
    – Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Ruminant Health and Production

Both are a 60% teaching, 30% research, and 10% academic service appointment.

The post holders will be expected to contribute to teaching in the Bachelor of Veterinary Biology / Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVetBiol/BVSc) course and other courses delivered by the School. The roles include expectations of research productivity, supervision of research students, as appropriate, and broad engagement with cattle/livestock industries as well as participation in the development and provision of clinical and/or consulting services to livestock producers as a part of a veterinary clinical service. Administrative activities within the School and Faculty are also required. Opportunities for completion of further postgraduate studies within the University are also available and will be supported.

These are an excellent opportunity to join the dynamic Production Animal Medicine group at CSU. The Position Descriptions for each position, where the principal responsibilities and the selection criteria are outlined can be accessed in the link provided below.

Informal enquiries are encouraged and should be directed to Dr Angel Abuelo, Senior Lecturer in Ruminant Health (aabuelo@csu.edu.au, Tel: +61269334737), or the Head of the School Prof Glenn Edwards (savshos@csu.edu.au).

The online application closes the 6th of August 11:59 pm (Sydney time). Candidates must submit their CV and a document addressing the selection criteria of each role as part of the application process. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

Further details and the online application system can be found at http://www.csu.edu.au/jobs/home/acad-vacancies (Ref No. 95956 and 95955).
